Significant Upgrades Continue at Kettering General Hospital

We are proud to have continued building upon our long-standing relationship with Kettering General Hospital throughout the year so far, having worked on a number of key projects including necessary adaptations in order to improve the site’s suitability in line with current social distancing measures.

Our work as Quantity Surveyors and Contract Administrators on the important upgrades to the Lamport and Twywell wards were originally intended to improve the two wards’ suitability for dementia patients. However, the timing of these refurbishments allowed the project to evolve, with further adaptations being made in order to meet the current guidelines.

Our work on the same day emergency care (SDEC) unit at the Hospital, which started in August, is also due to complete by the end of October. This new SDEC unit will free up more space within the Hospital, by providing an area for some patients to be assessed, diagnosed, treated and safely discharged without being admitted to a ward.

Elsewhere in the Hospital, works have completed on the second phase of the refurbishment to the Cath Labs, construction of a brand new Cardiac Investigations unit, and construction of a new glazed walkway linking the Maxillofacial Unit to the main Hospital, you can read more about these projects in previous updates.

With GSS having worked at the Kettering General Hospital site for over 100 years, it is a privilege to continue developing our relationship with the Hospital over a number of important ongoing healthcare projects. Please get in touch if you feel that GSSllp could assist you with your next healthcare project.
