Works at the Grade II* listed Hind Hotel in Wellingborough, where GSSllp are providing Quantity Surveying and Cost Management services, are progressing well with the installation of the roof tiles taking place recently.
Thanks to the hard work of the team, the site has managed to remain open and operating safely since social distancing measures were introduced, with careful planning ensuring that the hotel has also been able to remain operational, providing essential accommodation for Key Workers.
The project involves the restoration and repairs to the Grade II* listed building and is part of the Wellingborough Townscape Heritage Initiative, partially funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund. GSSllp have worked closely with the client, assisting and advising of the best route to successfully secure funding for the project, of which we are now cost managing through the construction stage.
The iconic golden Hind statue (known as Doris), which sits above the main entrance, was recently gold gilded ready for re-installation upon completion of works later this year.
