The building was delivered on time, greatly assisted by the offsite construction methods used for this particular unit. The prefabricated McDonald’s structure arrived in 11 parts, which were carefully lifted into place over the course of just a few days, allowing fit-out to take place over the last few weeks.
The brand-new McDonald’s unit at Corby Southern Gateway will soon open its doors to the public. The official opening ceremony took place on Wednesday 4th March, making it the first of the 4 retail units on the site to open to the public.
GSSllp are proud to have been Employer’s Agent and Quantity Surveyors for the delivery of this McDonald’s Drive-Thru, as well as the remaining units at this brand-new retail parade.
The new unit is of particular significance as McDonald’s are trialling a new interior design scheme, with the aim to make the restaurant feel more “homely” and stand out a lot more than the typical McDonald’s interiors, which are all relatively similar.
Elsewhere on site, PGR Construction have completed works on the other 3 units, including the Drive-Thru Costa, the Domino’s Pizza unit, and the remaining vacant unit. Fit-out will be taking place over the coming weeks, meaning that it won’t be long until the entire site is open to the public, providing a further range of services and amenities to the south of Corby, significantly enhancing the existing offer and benefiting the wider Corby area throughout the day.
